How Insignificant I Was

I have something Silly to share. Something that seems rather silly in fact, But, It gives you the best picture of how worthless we once were.

The other day I was hiking around my woods and I came across an ant hill. This ant hill and all the action around it quickly grabbed my attention. So, I sat and watched all of the little ants make their army work lines and carry food in and out of the hole. As I sat there, it started sprinkling, The smell of a heavy rain was in the air. So, I decided to sit there for only a few more minutes before heading back to my house, after all, it is always a delightful, adventurous thing to get caught in the rain. Well, while sitting and watching these ants, I started to realized a little stream of water coming down the hill behind me and hitting the 'ant hill'. I soon realized that these ants were going to be destroyed by the rain that was to come from the storm. So, I started telling them they needed to move or they would be destroyed. (Not sure what I was thinking, Due to the fact they can't understand me.) I then started yelling, but they still couldn't hear or understand me. Then, the craziest idea EVER crossed my mind, What if I could turn into an ant and then merely tell them they needed to move before they would be destroyed. Me, turn into something as worthless as an ant, just to save them? Seemed kind of silly. Well, the rain started to pick up and I had no choice, So, I started wishing and wishing and wishing as hard as I could to turn into an Ant. When I opened my eyes, I was black, and small, and jacked and I had several legs. I then ran to the ant hole as fast as those short little legs would take me. I started telling them that they needed to move because they would be destroyed if they didn't. They considered me an impostor and literally killed me for it. When they merely should have been praising me for giving up my Amazing life to help them.
The worth I had once had, took the form of worthlessness to try and save them and they killed me.

Does this remind you of how wretched we are?
OR Does this remind you of how insignificant we once were? Then Christ came and game us a purpose. (Amen)

This was my little siblings bed time story the other night. . . Got them thinking as well.

An Interesting Adventure

Today I woke up to another normal day. I ever so grumpily crawled out of bed, merely because I think getting up in the morning is the worst thing on earth. :0 I then went about my usual morning things and  looked in my Day planner. (Ya, I am one of those people that basically write down my hour by hour day, It helps to have things laid out and clear for my mind.) Anyways, My day planner looked something like this...

-Thu, Jan 26-
Dentist @ 9:00
Work from 11-3
Coach Basketball practice from 3-5
Go to the gym and get buff (ya, that was my exact wording. ;))

Today was a busy, well thought and planned out day. Granted it is only the afternoon yet, but my day has been going far different from how I planned it to go. I am sure so many of us face this frantic planning or stress when our schedule isn't working out. So, I was off to my first appointment, The dentist. You see, I have a strong dislike of people putting things in my mouth. I never really used to care about it, but, through the last few years, having 3 surgeries in my mouth and no good outcomes of dentists it has kinda just stuck with me. Anyways, I went to the Dentist and got an ever so nice ' Cleaning'. Tho, I don't really see how they cleaned my teeth any different then I do. :O After that, I was scheduled for a filling on one of my teeth. Terrible isn't it. One of my precious teeth needed a filling. Ya, there is a secret for ya. ;) Well, I sat in the chair to get ready for my filling. The room was white and cold and all I could hear was music, that was supposed to relax me, playing in the background. I wasn't relaxed. The doctor came in and gave me some numbing shots and such. This has been by far the weirdest thing I have EVER experienced. He gave me a shot that went all the way through my head. My eyes blacked out and my nose froze. I couldn't move or speak. I was pretty sure I was dying. After about 3 minutes, my sight came back. The rest of my face was frozen, but, at least I could see, right. Then the worst thing, The doctor got out that drill we all so desperately hate. He started drilling away at something. While he was doing it he was asking me questions about my life. How on earth was i supposed to answer him while his hands are in my mouth and my face is numb, It was mega awkward. Well, After a long time sitting there, my dentist visit had finished. I left, went to my car, waited sever minutes and my face was still numb. I had to call in to my work and tell them that half my face was immovable and i couldn't work today. Talk about awkward. Great impression on them after working there for only a month. I clicked 'End' on the phone and headed home. Although the hilarious part of this all was around my eye was numb so everything was mega blurry, So i drove home with one eyes shut (so i could see) and half my face stuck.

Below I have posted a photo of my amazing smile for you all to see and admire. ;)

I hope you have enjoyed my pointless blog of my Dentist visit. Somethings in life just have to make you smile. This is one of those things that made me. :)

Transformation

Transformation

Ever caught little caterpillars and watch them transform into butterflies? Well, Every year Since my family moved up into the country, we would walk our road and look for those little tiney critters. It has been several years, 7 or more actually. We would always get on our hiking boots, tuck our ripped jeans in so they would not get dirty, climb in a wagon and walk down the road. We were on a family mission. We were looking for a little plant called milkweed. Usually we would find the caterpillars by looking for half eaten leaves. We would get so giddy and excited when we would find one and our dad would take the plant they were one, put them in a jar and we would watch them eat, grow and create for themself a crissalis. Then, A few weeks later, we would wait for that awesome moment when they come out of the crisilis and are beautiful Monarch butterflies.

I was not with all my senses the day we went over the summer and didn't even take my camera, But once we got back, We took several shots. Here are a few...

  Our caterpillar hunting crew.

What a fun adventure that was. :)

Now it seems silly for me to write about a summer adventure in the middle of a cold winter, But, there is a reason. One reason is because something I absolutely LOVE to do is to look back and past memories in my life. (especially ones that make me think of the warmth. haha)  The other reason I wrote this post is because I have been thinking about what it means to be remade and transformed, in a biblical sense. Something to think about is that, that caterpillar had to go through something 'crazy weird' as wrapping itself up in a crissalis for a long time, till it would be remade. So often, We as Christians don't want to do anything out of our comfort zone to seek the Lord, or even be remade into the likeness of him. But when we do, When we let the Lord mold us and make us, We become something Beautiful. A beckon for him. Give up yourself and let him transform you into hes most beautiful creation!

                               Things that bring me Joy....

So often I will just be going about my day and something will come to my mind of happen that just brings an ever so big smile upon my face. I am sure we all have endless lists, But here are a few of the things that brought me Joy today...

-  Finding an extra and last piece of gum in the bottom of my bag (This is a big one)

-  Realizing my gas tank could go just a little farther then I expected.

-  Getting an ever so generous tip from a sweet old lady.

-  Getting that little extra time in me bible.

-  Waking up to life.

(i just realized this is looking rather upside down pyramid like, Had to break that. :0)

-  Getting a hug from my sweet little sister.

-  Hearing from my long lost friend. :) (this made me very happy)

I hope there are many things that you can count as ' Things that bring you joy'.

Thou Wilt Show Me the Path of Life...

Psalm 16:11- “Thou wilt show me the path of life….”  Since being young and little, I have had this as my life verse. My mom prayed it over me when I was young because she knew I would struggle with this very thing, knowing the path for my life. Being a recently graduated senior form high school, I have really struggled with what to do with my life, what college to go to and if I could afford it. Just like any senior would. This next post isn’t to tell you what I have decided to do for the fall, or what I want to do with my life, But to encourage you with the fact that God will show you the path of your life if you do ask him and seek him. That’s what it is all about “seek and you will find.”
It was about 3 moths till the end of my senior year in high school. What I wanted to do was go right to a bible college and go for photography and bible. I wanted to peruse a ministry for the Lord and I didn’t want to wait around to start serving him. I then got a phone call from Baptist Bible College. They gave me an amazing deal to go there; they were going to split the cost in half and some more. I couldn’t turn that down; I was set that I was going to BBC in the fall. Well, God happens to have a different plan then we all do. A school in Florida was brought to my attention. A school by the name of Palm Beach Atlantic. This school was amazing. A ministry field right outside of the school, it had photography and it was a bible school next to an amazing church. My heart was pulled there. All I wanted to do was going there and give my life to the Lord in ministry. There was no way I could afford this school. It was 30 grand for one school year. Yikes. So, because I felt pulled down there so much, I prayed and prayed and seeked after God. I prayed that if he wanted me to go there then he would provide me with the money to go, provide me with a car and a place to stay. God did that very thing. You see, when you ask in all faith and that is what God wants, he will make that clear and possible for you. People, of whom I don’t know, gave me money for school. I was able to purchase a vehicle and laptop for school and I was offered a place to stay down there. That was a True blessing right there. God was answering my prayers and providing me with what I needed to go down there. I was headed to Florida this fall. I was scared, because I have never been from home before, but I had to put how this body felt aside and peruse Romans 12 and be a living sacrifice.
There was then a small intervention. My parents said no. How could after so much seeking and finding and him showing me, my parents say no? I still cannot answer that question. Someday I will look back and understand why he showed me and provided me with what he did and then ended it. The bible says to honor your father and mother, so that is what I did. I decided I needed to stay home. So, I got on my knees each night and prayed God would give me a good attitude toward staying home, I prayed he would give me opportunities for ministry here at home. AGAIN, without fail, he stayed true to his words and answered those prayers. Since staying home, I have gotten 2 jobs. At each I have my co-workers asking me about the Lord. They see a difference in me. Nothing I am doing, but the Lord, He is starting to crush this flesh and live through me. I have people I really don’t know that are asking to come to church with me. I got an apprenticing photography job under a Christian woman and I am going on a mission’s trip. God is still showing me the path of my life.
Are you confused with what God wants to do with you? It’s alright. Just
 Keep praying and seeking Him.
His word says, Ask and it will be given , SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND. God will show you what he wants you to do, only if you are willing to lay everything aside and listen to what he has to say.  Just remember, He will show you the path of life.
